InnovaCare Health Solutions is an industry leading healthcare provider. The company provides specialized services in tandem with government programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. Over the years, the organization’s growth can be attributed to the capable leaders at its helm. At the very top is Dr. Richard Shinto who is currently the CEO & President. Dr. Shinto, best known as Rick, is an accomplished leader with over 20 years of experience in the health sector. His second in command is Penelope Kokkinides who is the Chief Administrative Officer.
Rick began his medical career as a pulmonologist in Southern California. He earned his medical degree at the University of New York and had received an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands. Before taking the reins at InnovaCare, Dr. Shinto had served in previous leadership roles within the healthcare management industry. He was the Chief Medical Officer at NAMM California before moving on to work in the same capacity at Medical Pathways company. A few years later he went on to work at Aveta Incorporated as the Chief Executive Officer. It was while at Aveta that he received an award for entrepreneur of the year from Ernst & Young.
After Aveta had been sold to investors, Dr. Shinto was offered a CEO position at InnovaCare Health Solutions. At around the same time, Penolope Kokkinides who was the vice president of clinical operations at Aveta was offered a job as the Chief Administrative Officer at the new company. This was because Innovacare Health was formerly a part of Aveta and according to hrmronline.com, new owners preferred to source the most talented individuals from inside the thriving organization.
Penelope Kokkinides majored in biological sciences and received her degree from Binghamton University. She also studied social work at the master’s level in New York University. Penelope attended Columbia University to study public health and went on to receive a master’s degree. With all her extensive knowledge, Penelope has held different leadership positions in different companies. Before rejoining Innovacare in 2015, she was the COO and Executive VP at Centerlight Healthcare.
Provision of affordable and quality healthcare has been the main aim of this organization. InnovaCare’s leadership has been responsible for providing a clear vision for the company’s expansion. Richard Shinto and Penelope Kokkinides have steered Innovacare to expand to new international markets. At the moment, InnovaCare already has 230,000 member patients who are serviced by 73,000 providers. View her infographic resume at Vizualize.me
